so many reasons to record a conference call
We seem to get a new one every day:
- "Somebody can't join the call and wants to hear it later."
- "We have a new employee orientation that we would like to save
and play whenever we hire a new person."
- "We talked about so much I couldn't take notes, so now I will
play it back and concentrate on the summary."
- "I give this pitch about seventy times a day, it would be nice
to give my voice a rest."
How can you use a recording and playback of your conference call?
How to Record and Playback a Call
Recording a Call
After your participants
have all dialed in, to begin the recording sequence the Leader can press *2.
The
Leader will be prompted to enter a “Recorded Call ID” (1 to 8
digits) of your choice followed by the # sign. Make a note of
the Recorded Conference ID for future
access.
Leader will then be prompted
to press 1 to begin recording, 2 to re-enter the Recorded Conference
ID or * to cancel.
To stop recording,
Leader presses *2, again.
Please note: recordings are kept for 30
days. The system will keep any number of recorded conferences, each
filed by the unique Recorded Conference ID which you originally
chose (see above). You will want to keep note of your file
numbers.
Automated Playback
During any conference,
once the Leader has entered, the Leader may initiate a playback by
pressing *3.
The Listener will be
prompted to enter the Recorded Conference ID followed by #.
If the Recorded Conference ID is recognized, the Leader will be prompted to enter the
number of minutes to skip forward followed by # (in case the portion
of interest is not at the beginning of the recording). If no
minutes are entered, the recording will play from the beginning.
To turn off the
playback feature, the Leader presses *3, otherwise it will
automatically turn off when playback is completed.
Please note: While listening to a
playback, no other conference calls can be made within the same
account.
If another Listener dials in
during the playback, they will hear the playback at whatever point it is at
that time. To hear it from the beginning, the playback must be
re-prompted as above.
